Today our bot server was down for about 6 hours.

It's caused by connectivity error from host provider vultr.com.

This is the error message:

your host node is experiencing a connectivity error and our engineering team is investigating the issue in additional detail.

This is the support ticket response:

//////////////////////////////
Please standby,

We are investigating this matter and will update this ticket soon.

I think the server was probably ddosed. I have some servers with vultr and they don't go down unless they get ddosed.

I would recommend moving the server to OVH, they are immune to ddos attacks. It would also probably be good to use a domain name instead of an ip too so you can switch ips without telling everyone to change it.

OVH is not immune to DDoS attacks, not even close.

It is the closest you can get without paying millions to akamai. OVH is basically immune to bandwidth attacks. It is what buddybots uses.

It is up to you to prevent application level attacks.

My servers at OVH have never been successfully ddosed because I have plugged all the holes in my apps.
