I just opened Hearthstone and got a notification that it was "Downloading (2/2) Files" with a load bar in the Opening Screen.

What just happened? Is this some sort of a bot check/detect? Or what?

No idea why you got that message. As I said, I didn't notice a download on the client, but maybe one has experienced it.
